After returning to Colorado with our new Weekend Warrior, we proceeded to register it at the DMV. We were told we needed a VIN Validation from either a dealership or the police department. I was a bit nervous thinking about pulling our behemoth 44′ toy hauler into downtown Castle Rock and trying to park it near the police station or our MedVed dealership.
A few days later I was driving back from a client on-site visit in Colorado Springs, thinking about getting my VIN Validation, when it hit me that we were staying in Chatfield State Park and Park Rangers were also considered law enforcement. So I stopped by the dealership and picked up a VIN Validation form and drove home to Chatfield. As I entered the park, I asked the campground office about getting a ranger to our campsite. They said no problem and 20 minutes later, the ranger arrived.
I was completely surprised when the ranger got out of the truck and had brought a VIN Validation form with her. This was not the first time they’d been asked to do this! In 5 minutes we were done and I had my VIN Validation. Thanks Park Rangers! It sure beats driving into town!
