Very nice state park campground, with water and electric. Some very large sites, shaded with lots of trees. Located near the Suwannee River. Very quiet and not a whole lot to do besides walks in the campground and the museum, which is how we like it. The river was a dirty red color, so no kayaking at this time of year. Not sure if it is different at other times. Was hoping to see a gator, but no luck.
Museum about composer Stephen Foster was pretty interesting. The dioramas about his songs were some of the best I’ve seen. We even knew of his songs – “Oh, Susanna” and “Swanee River” (he changed the name from the actual Suwanee River).
